DMS550 (MLK 550L) is owned by Paul Tripptree.  She was delivered new to London Transport in December 1972, working solely in east London at Barking (BK) and West Ham (WH) garages.

10 years later, in January 1983, she was officially handed over to Ensignbus, the well done bus dealers, who at that time were dealing with all London's DMS disposals, and 550 found a new home at a Catholic School in Sheerness, operating in her withdrawn LT colours.  In August 1987, she was sold back to Ensignbus, who subsequently sold her on to the London Borough of Bexley, and she was converted into a design and technology unit.

March 1993 and DMS550 again found a new home, this time being used as an office at Ovenden Plant Hire of Aylsham, Kent (whose faded livery she still wears).

She was acquired by Jake Bamford in early 2009 and he started the restoration work on her - the start of a long journey.  In Summer 2011, an ex-East Kent Bristol VR became available and Jake decided that the DMS would have to find a new owner and she was acquired by Paul.  He has continued the work started by Jake, including the rebuilding of the front step.

The following photos show how she was when Paul acquired her......
