XF3 is in the hands of Gary Wood and Nigel Coupe. She has been extensively restored and is a regular performer on the rally and running day scene in south east England.
The XFs and XAs were experimental vehicles ordered by London Transport when they were exploring various options for OPO vehicles. The Fleetlines started life in the Country area, and the Atlanteans in the Central area. After a while they were swapped to compare performance. History records that the Fleetline won through, and LT eventually ordered over 2,500 of them.
This photo shows XF3 after swapping into the Central area, operating route 271.
